3pm next day....
Gone over to casa del, packed my bag and just waiting until the time is right to get my stuff out of there. I'm supposed to start work in 4 hours but the prospect of it is pissing me off. I'm tired, back hurts and I suppose I've had enough - the Dutchess is leaving the building. Just having a spot of lunch, then tattoo and then the great escape!
Just had a look and over 2k hits on my blog! Yay! As long as you read, I will promise to post!!
Ok, it's now 6pm and ive got my bags out of casa del and informed them that my time is up and wrote them a sycophantically apologetic letter... Feel really bad about it but my work ethic sucks and personally what I thought was going to be a 24hr week was actually between 40-48hr week. Piss take really but hey ho.. They get to keep my $150 deposit, so onwards I go. Moved my tattoo AGAIN but only until 8pm tonight (me and tattoo artist Dan are like old war buddies now - well in my head we are). I've also booked a hostel in San Diego for the week, starting 28th. It's supposedly really cool there and near the Mexican border, so you can easily pop over to Tijuana for the nightlife. Bring it on!! Tijuana is supposedly a dirty crazy town but total fun, so I'm all over the idea like a bad dose of herpes and have been dying to visit for years now. Got this snippet from wiki:
Many foreigners travel to Tijuana to drink and dance, buy prescription drugs, purchase bootleg brand-name clothing, timepieces, and other personal accessories found globally, as well as manufactured and hand-crafted local curiosities. Locals and regular tourists avoid hassles by visiting the clubs at Plaza Fiesta or other areas of the Zona Río without the crowds, heavy marketing, and occasional tourist misbehavior or outright lawbreaking common on the Revolución strip. However, Avenida Revolución has been known for its proliferation of nightclub shows, primarily catering to
casual tourists. While still an entertaining town with an enjoyable atmosphere, locals and tourists alike would agree that it has lost its "anything goes" mentality which it had once acquired, a mindset that was dangerous to tourists, locals, and the tourism industry as a whole.
Tijuana is also known as the birthplace of the "Tijuana Special," which is a classic Tex-Mex dish consisting of enchiladas, rice and refried beans. This dish was popularized by Tippy's, an American Tex-Mex restaurant.
A song called Tijuana lady that I was obsessed with back in the day. Click and enjoy x
You lasted a lot longer than I would have Hen!! Loving that you brought in your signature style of sashaying out of there in a plume of bourjois smoke - did you get the private jet to pull up outside the hostel? $150 dollar deposit will probably keep those crusties in pulses , tyre tread sandals and loin clothes for months!!! They will no doubt erect a brass statue in your honour and name a tree after thee!
ReplyDeleteOm shanti fair maiden! May the spirit of doofus poopus remain with you ;o)
On shanti beautiful! I got an email from the owner and they asking me to come back and said they would accommodate me better. I'm done tho and fancy heading towards the sea, so San Diego is the next stop. I've still got the bracelet, so your knotting technique paid off! X
